primary fright

I'm having a tough time understanding exactly WHO is voting in the Republican primaries and caucuses. Because it should be Republicans.

How is it that McCain, Romney and Huckabee keep winning, when good, solid conservatives like Duncan Hunter, Fred "sleepy" Thompson and RUDY barely register?

Mostly I hear about Dems changing their voter registrations, and voting up the candidates they think can be easily defeated by Billary or B. Hussein. It's dirty, and this primary season has been unlike any other in my adult lifetime.

Ann Coulter is backing a cult member?! I feel like I have been dropped into an alternate reality.

Do I have any readers (who are always registered Republican voters), in any state that has already held its primary and voted for McCain, Romney or Huckabee?

I'd love to hear from you. And if you are a talkative sort, I'd love to have you on MoxVox, Thursday -- if even for a few minutes.

It's not a debate show, I'm just curious to know what you find appealing about these clowns. And that comes from someone who was temporarily charmed by Huckabee's debate skills and humor.

Why do you say that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a cult? Have you ever heard of a worldwide cult that has over 13 million members, from over 150 countries? If not, please articulate why you think that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is able to be such a singular exception?

Seth, have a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine and relax.

You included Giuliani as a conservative? I like him, but I like him because he's not a conservative. It's going to take a while for a conservative to make it.

Posted by: holywriter at January 19, 2008 7:45 PM

Yeah, I do think he's conservative. But I define that on a few issues, sadly not including roe v. wade, which I'd enjoy seeing flushed down the toilet.

I love Rudy, but realize he's not perfect.

Mox, you meanie. ;) Seth, there are 16,500,000 Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide, and they're a cult, too. Mormonism is just the 19th century's version of Scientology -- a religion hacked together by a con man.

Moxie, in response to your first paragraph: So far, none of the three primary states that have voted restrict the vote to registered Republicans. New Hampshire allowed independents to vote in either primary. Michigan and South Carolina don't have registration by party. Michigan's Democratic primary was meaningless, so Democrats would have been tempted to vote in the Republican primary. South Carolina's Democratic primary isn't until next Saturday, so centrists may have decided to go ahead and vote in the Republican primary.

Florida's is the first primary where you must be a registered Republican to vote in the Republican primary.

Michael, I'm a meanie?! Where did I call Mormonism a cult?!

I'm so confused.

But thanks on the clarification about the primaries. Hopefully with Florida, the right can get on with business. What has been happening until now, is difficult to comprehend.

I appreciate you talking frankly about Mormonism, Moxie.

Miss Moxie, I agree with you, just so you know.

Wow. KL commenting on my site!

Please, allow me to say I appreciate it. And I'd like to pre-order any book containing your writing, KL. Or maybe I should just thank you for watching Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld!

Just so you know, that was not the real KL who commented above. His rear-end is stuck in his couch.

Miss Moxie, I do not understand why Seth disagrees with you. Everything you said makes perfect sense to me.

Just so you know, you are one of the best bloggers on the net.

And thank you for watching Red Eye.

Just so you know, no one else may comment as KL.

And thank you for watching my Red Eye.

Um...Islam?

I see that everyone here believes that I, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, am a cultist. I can assure you that I am not. I may do some things that you find eccentric, and you will have to give up your coffee and alcohol, before you can experience for yourselves what goes on in our temples, but if you do, you will thank me for encouraging you to do so. I officially give up on trying to convince anyone here, but just remember that if you ever meet someone named Seth who is a member of my church, I would love to discuss what I believe with you, and help you all to not be so scared of me and my fellow "Mormons" as you call us. See you around the planet.

Mormonism a cult? Maybe. Kind of. If they are a cult, they're darn nice folks.

But then again the early years of Mormonism aren't that far off from the early years of iSlam.
