To the most Reverend & Illustrious High Priestess: The most Excellent Moxie-mus, Strike-Leader #404.
I bid you greetings Mistress from my mission to storm the Libtard Citadel ‘Lutheran Church of Hope (andChange)’.
I, Agent 42601, aka ‘the emo-nator’ return with tidings of high adventure and daring with news of the success of my reaching the objective! TBTR (Thanks be to Rushbo).
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sea of tie-died, sandal wearing, bean sprout munching crunchy bohemians – and this was only 12 minutes after the polls opened. For a moment, I thought that my plan wasdiscovered and that they were here to rip my registration card from my hands and sacrifice me to the Goracle.
Quickly, I check my disguise – Blue jeans… check …tee shirt… check …Boots … check…. 5 oclock shadow check … Button that says ‘How about a hug, brother?’, check. (not that there is anything wrong with that - mind you). TBTR
I do the sniff test: Excellent: 8 hours hard labor before coming has given me the same arua as the crowd. I feel safer already.
I look around. Hey!!! There are 2 other conservative agents in the crowd with me (one is wearing a Camoflage Cap and the other is wearing biker leathers and a cowboy cap). We briefly nod to one another, understanding that we mustn’t communicate too much lest we blow our cover.
Alas we are noticed!!!! The crowd starts to observe us in an askance manner. Quickly, before its too late, we form a line and attempt to do the ‘YMCA’ routine, hoping they think we are the Village People. Unfortunately, thereis no – one to do the letter ‘A’ and so the crowd starts to murmur and gather. We then break ranks to do the number ‘Nacho Man’. Perfect! That does the trick and they melt away in laughter! Thankfully, mistress, we are safe… for now.
No other occurrences happen during the infiltration , however I may need oxygen after gagging over the smell in the place. It took me over an hour and a half to reach the objective and complete the mission. Ha ha!!!! Boy will they be surprised that someone has sullied their Citadel and voted for … McCain/Palin!
However due to their VAST numbers, I beg you to send many more conserve-bots to offset this rabble. I await further reinforcements (after my morning nappy…)!
Your most humble servant and co-conspirator,
Cond0010 the emo-nator
TBTR

“Which websites are you guys refreshing constantly?”
You baby, YOU!
: )
November 4th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Cond, I have done my part to reinforce your numbers.
Mox, there were people in line that could have easily starred in “HSM3″ yet were here today casting votes. I am somewhat encouraged as one of them relayed to me her support for McCain. It was a 45 minute process for me and I live in a little town of about 7,000 people.

I voted by mail to avoid the cranky poll workers. I like Kathy Shaidle’s fivefeetoffury.com. Also, I’ve been checking townhall.com and the Weekly Standard’s blog. I’m just not into The Corner and Kathryn Jean Lopez’s lame attempts to defend Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan.
I’m thinking of avoiding the news altogether today: I feel helpless when I read about the efforts to steal the election in Philly, etc. Somehow all of the fraud seems to be on behalf of the Democrats. Why is that okay?
November 4th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Hey, is this you Mox?Hollywood Voting [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
An e-mail:
Arrived exactly at 7 AM, and the line already trailed out the building and down the block. The poll workers were pretty well organized though, and I was out of there in about 25 minutes.
While standing in line, a nice fatherly type behind me volunteered in a whisper, “I gave McCain a lot of thought, but I’m gonna go with Nader”. We then had a nice chat about bias in the media, and the sad state of journalism at the LA Times.
I guess since both of us stood in stark contrast to all the greasy hipster types in line — the only two who had bathed this month and lacked multiple nose piercings — he recognized another Obama kool-aid teetotaller.
Hopefully, in all of the 57 states Obama campaigned in — there are lots more McCain and Nader voters standing in line together discussing the mainstream media’s problems.
That marks the second person today I heard of who thought about McCain and voted Nader.

Try 40 kids. I wake up @ 600hrs on my own and wonder when the hell is my 17 yo son is going to rise from the dead. Now turn that racket down!
November 4th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Looks like oil speculators are betting on an Obama win.
November 4th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
Mike - if your trip brings you through Denver, beverages are on me. Unless Obama wins. Then, I’ll be broke….
November 4th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
I took Mike’s idea as inpiration and went out and smoked a cigar. Good thinking!
November 4th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
did you hear that Bill Ayers and Louis Farrakhan both voted at the same precinct that GJ voted today? Coincidence? I think not.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Mike - if your trip brings you through Denver, beverages are on me. Unless Obama wins. Then, I’ll be broke….
Thanks, Jeff. If my travels next summer take me through Denver, I’ll take you up on your offer.
The reason I’m driving up to Washington state is to attend my niece’s graduation from high school and to deliver an old chest of drawers that belonged to my late brother to my nephew. I’m planning to rent either a minivan or truck for the drive up and then I’ll fly back home to San Antonio.
The trip will happen in June if all goes according to plan.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Thanks, Mark. Glad I could provide some inspiration to a fellow Republican!
November 4th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
Mike -
It just so happens, I used to manage a cigar shop, so, I’ll pick us up a couple good ones to go with beverages. And, if it’s on the weekend, we can go up to the mountains for some target practice.
FYI - your CCW permit is valid in CO.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
The early calling is ridiculous. I think I’ll keep an eye on the liveblog, and put the TV on anything but the election. My wife asked me to please stop yelling at the tv. They apparently can’t hear me…..
November 4th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
Maybe this’ll help alleviate the depression:

A little perspective.

Goodnight all. Tonight I start my four years of mourning.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Well, Jindal in 2012. I don’t get how so many people could vote for B. Hussein Obama. : (

You can always join me in Estonia. Lower taxes there, the weather is hella cold but it is definitely the opposite of socialism. Just learn Estonian in the summer at UCLA’s Baltic inst, learn Russian and you’ll be good to go. (:
November 4th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
Hi Maia! How are things at UCSD?

Sounds great! Hopefully I’ll make it to CO this summer.
November 5th, 2008 at 12:06 am
Funny. A week ago I was telling my brother that they despise socialism in some of the former Soviet bloc countries. I am going to admit some ignorance…what do they speak in Estonia? Is it Estonian?
November 5th, 2008 at 12:29 am
Don’t be ashamed of America, Mox. Let the great healing commence with complimentary beer and movieage from across the aisle.
November 5th, 2008 at 12:33 am
And it’s not even government subsidized!
November 5th, 2008 at 12:56 am
I think I picked a bad decade to give up drinking. Or maybe I didn’t give it up and this is all just a really bad case of alcohol induced delerium. Hmmm…OUCH! Nope, if I’d had that much to drink my face would have been so numb I wouldn’t have felt that punch. I’m not drunk. This is real. We’ve elected a red to the White House.
Oh, well. I hate being right sometimes.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:25 am
Hey, Tom! Nice to see you found your way over here! If I could I’d gladly share some of my Shiner Bock with you. This is a sad day for America, freedom, and liberty.
As soon as Obama prevailed, I started thinking of A State of Disobedience. Life just may be imitating art once again.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:29 am
huh… it appears Obama won. Well, at least we don’t have to listen to all that Chimpy Mchilter Bush Garbage.
At least in the form that it was.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:56 am
“Revolutionaries brook no opposition. Enjoy your Obama presidency America, you earned it.”
Winged Words, Mike. Winged Words.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:56 am
Thinking about moving back to Texas, Mike. Virginia has failed me. (My daughters would prefer going to Panama or Israel, mind you.)
November 5th, 2008 at 1:57 am
“Regarding Communism, it is certainly disturbing how Obama’s “O” logo so strongly resembles the old Weather Underground logo.”
Yep… America is gonna have to get their ‘O’ face on for the next 4 years too.
November 5th, 2008 at 2:07 am
Thinking about moving back to Texas, Mike. Virginia has failed me. (My daughters would prefer going to Panama or Israel, mind you.)
Good, we need to shore up the red American population here to prevent Obama and his minions from making inroads. Do you have any particular city in mind?
I might be living in Dallas/Fort Worth, Lubbock, or College Station by next fall. Wish I didn’t have to leave San Antonio, but career-wise I may have little choice.
November 5th, 2008 at 2:11 am
Well, you can get more house for the money in Houston than anyplace else I know of. Not that I like Houston. I did like San Antonio.
Have to see. It’s just a thought for the moment.

Any decent IT gigs open in Houston?
November 5th, 2008 at 3:13 am
Not that I like Houston.
I used to live there and I didn’t like it, either.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:15 am
Mike -
Any decent IT gigs open in Houston?
There might be. Either there or Austin. Austin is full of crazy libs, but the suburban areas (like Round Rock) are heavily Republican.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:32 am
“Ha, we could use the sock puppet right now for some humor.”
I aim to please, Mike.
November 5th, 2008 at 5:41 am
And you do!
Unfortunately. the country now has to put up with 4 years of a Marx-puppet in the White House. And that’s not so pleasing.
November 5th, 2008 at 5:46 am
Time to put on the ‘O’ face!
I’m a bit blue tonight, Mike. Signing off for a bit. I hope your lecture goes well tomorrow morning. If you stay up any later you may need a triple expresso!
November 5th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Moxie - It was a pleasure to read your live-blogging of election day, and equally entertaining to read your regular posts. Keep up the great posts!
A conservative in Southern California? Isn’t that like finding a grapefruit in a box of raisin bran?
And I have to say: A 1985 Porsche 911? Too Cool. And there is no way you’re 36.
November 6th, 2008 at 2:12 am
I hope your lecture goes well tomorrow morning. If you stay up any later you may need a triple expresso!
I had the triple espresso earlier this afternoon. It helped.
My morning lecture went well, but I became very angry shortly thereafter. To find out why, read my latest blog entry.

If that manling/professor had any sense of humanity and a good sense of history, he seems to have forgotten the horrific suffering that was there BEFORE the Americans came to Afghanistan to get rid of hte Taliban.
If he thinks the Democrats will make peace in that area by having us pull out, perhaps you should remind him of all the deaths that occurred in SE Asia after the US pulled out of Vietnam due to the massive cutting of military funds by the Democrat Congress.
The blood of millions of innocents is on the hands of the Passive-Aggressive Democrat Congress that cut the US military funds for the campaign in SE Asia (Vietnam).
Sirak Mitak put it quite well:
_____
I will always remember the message from Cambodian statesman Sirak Mitak who penned a final note to the U.S. ambassador refusing his offer of evacuation just days before his execution at the hands of the Khmer Rouge:
“I cannot, alas, leave in such a cowardly fashion. As for you and in particular for your great country, I never believed for a moment that you would have this sentiment of abandoning a people which has chosen liberty….You leave and my wish is that you and your country will find happiness under the sky.
“But mark it well that, if I shall die here on the spot and in my country that I love, it is too bad because we all are born and must die one day. I have only committed this mistake in believing in you, the Americans.”
http://fallbackbelmont.blogspot.com/2006/11/un-bel-di.html
_____
We all know what happened AFTER the US military left, don’t we? Millions and millions of deaths occurred. Of course our education system and media downplays the actual direct cause of those deaths, but we won’t go there.
Perhaps you could give him the quote from Sirak Mitak and then the amount of deaths that happened due to that pull out?
Maybe even pin it to his door as a Red Badge of Courage for his desires for retreat in Afghanistan?
November 7th, 2008 at 3:41 am
Cond0010, that’s a great comment. I integrated it into today’s post.
Despite all the years I’ve spent in the academic world, I just cannot understand such people. I don’t know if you’ve been following the recent dust-up between Patterico and Jeff Goldstein, but I think Goldstein has brought up quite a few good points as to why now is no time for conservatives to try to play nice with the left or bow “honorably” before the socialism they wish to impose upon us, as Patterico seems inclined to do.
Goldstein describes himself and those like us who choose to battle on as “outlaws.” He relishes the term, and so do I.
November 7th, 2008 at 6:49 am
I agree with your position, Mike. Pick your battles. Keep a low profile. Thnx for the recognition.
In regards to this:
http://www.zefrank.com/from52to48withlove/
How noble of them, eh? Good winners. Bad Losers. Terrible combination.
I too have cool heart towards them. The shrieks and tantrums of the last eight years still ring in my ears.
Still, my disapproval of them will be muted, my behavior appropriate (humor will ALWAYS trump ‘appropriate’.
), and their choice of the POTUS will get the level of respect from me that office and title demands.
Just remember, I am saluting the ‘uniform’ - not the man.
November 7th, 2008 at 6:53 am
Frankly, I would prefer that they were bad winners, but good losers.
I do feel the sting of their ‘nobility’ when it is combined with their awful behaviors of the last 8 years. Ah well.
I will NOT stoop to their level - unless it is real funny.
November 7th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
I’m glad you saw my newest blog post, Cond0010. Yeah, I’m not ready to accept the false nobility of the jackals of the left, but you’re right in that humor will be the best defense, or at least the best therapy.
By the way, a commenter at Ace of Spades said he saw this bumper sticker on a car: “I voted 70 times, where’s my Porsche?”
Good question. I guess I’ll just have to borrow Moxie’s!
November 7th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I just had this thought regarding the from52to48withlove website: beware of geeks bearing gifts.
November 7th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
“I guess I’ll just have to borrow Moxie’s! (Porshe)”
Yeah. Do you think Moxie will come with the Porshce?
“Goldstein describes himself and those like us who choose to battle on as “outlaws.” ”
Well, people with our mindset and view of the world are not viewed with favor by the media. Given the opportunity, they would probably attempt to pillory our reputations, which oddly, has considerable effect.
As Judge Roy Bean would say:
‘Give ‘em a fair trial, then hang ‘em.’
November 7th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Yeah. Do you think Moxie will come with the Porshce?
We should be so lucky!
As Judge Roy Bean would say:
‘Give ‘em a fair trial, then hang ‘em.’
Heh. Langtry, Texas (Bean’s hometown) might be one of the stops along my planned trip nest summer. Haven’t been through there since ‘94. To paraphrase Goethe, West Texas was the arcadia of my youth.
November 7th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Just came back from the bar with a few business friends tonight (and I intiated a new person into the group - heh), and there is a meme that started on the cellphones right after Obama was elected.
The meme is a text message that occurred right after Obama won the election (when that _officially_ happened I have no idea). I received it tonight. It read (no kidding):
“FWD: All white people must report 2 the cotton fields tomorrow morning at 7am for orientation! Thanks Pres. Obama.”
Huh… I’m almost afraid to laugh.
November 8th, 2008 at 2:20 am
Cond0010, you may be on to something. Take a look at this!
Who knew “change we can believe in” would involve repealing the 13th Amendment?!
November 8th, 2008 at 2:26 am
Mox, if you need some cheering up, just read some classic John Derbyshire from last August. Quoth the Derb:
Some children will be left behind. You cannot “remake the Middle East” or “defeat evil.” The poor will always be with us. Black and white will never mingle together in unselfconscious harmony. Corporations will not research and explore without hope of profit. Russia will not become Sweden. Forty million immigrants speaking a single language will not assimilate.
Yes, we can!
No, you can’t, you bloody fools.
Bloody marvelous, wouldn’t you agree?
November 8th, 2008 at 8:27 am
“Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.”
Huh… sounds like another grand libtard idea of dispensing good will in a grandiose and bureaucratic way.
The guy is right. Forcing people to do work for the community? Thats a plantation the scale of the old Soviet Unions’ - and an utter disaster.
I can’t believe that this will get any traction beyond pretty pictures on the internet (especially with the 13th amendment in the way). But we will will see.
It is typical democrat idiocy, though. _Forcing_ people to get out to serve the community is an oxymoron and un-christian. Good works and good deeds are the choice of the _individual_ and cannot be forced upon a group of individuals (and lets not even start talking about how we all are forced ‘donate’, through taxation, to ’social programs’ that we do not necessarily believe in). If it is forced upon them, it becomes corrupted and we slide into servitude or worse (check out the old Soviet system with their ‘communist’ theories).
The text message that was sent to my phone I thought to be silly - but with a grain of truth. There are some people still living with the garbage of over 150 years ago and those resentments continue to this day. Even though the perpetrators have been long gone. My ancestors fought to end slavery. Why should I have that crap stuck in my face?
